Holiday mode was in full effect the entire month of December so and I wasn’t able to get this post up for you guys. Better late than never! Although I try out a lot of makeup products, there are only a few that I reach for on a daily basis. Below are products that I love and use regularly. They may not have launched in 2016, but all were new to me. Check ’em out!
Bare Minerals GEN NUDE Matte Liquid Lipcolor in ‘Swag’
Chances are every picture I took in the last 3-4 months has been wearing this lip color. If you’re a fan of rosy nudes, this shade is the perfect everyday lippie. And the formula isn’t drying or cakey. Which reminds me, I need to get more shades!
theBalm Cabana Boy Blush Matte in ‘Dusty Rose’
I’m a huge fan of 2-in-1 products and this eyeshadow/blush duo is just as beautiful on the cheeks as it is on the eyes. The color seems intense, but you can apply a light wash of color or build up the intensity. A definite must! (P.S. great combo with the bare Minerals liquid lipstick.)
PIXI by Petra Endless Silky Eye Pen in ‘Bronze Beam’
Because of J.Lo, bronze glowy makeup looks are the most coveted. And as of late, a lot of celebs and beauty gurus are ditching the black liner for a softer brown shade. I love this particular pencil from PIXI because the shade is spot on with just the right amount of shimmery gold flecks. And it doesn’t budge. My lids are oily, so it’s rare for a pencil not to eventually run or smudge with time. But I wear this as a winged liner and it stays in place. I just started using their products, and I am so impressed by the quality at such an affordable price.
Rodial Contouring Powder
My lovelies with fair to medium skin tone, you need this contour powder in your life. The cool tone beautifully mimics the look of shadows on the face and helps you achieve natural definition. For my babes with medium to dark skin tones, they also make it in a dark shade. It is a bit pricey, but if you’ve been having trouble finding the right shade for your skin tone, I’d give it a try.
Elcie Glow Enhancer
I don’t know how I used to apply foundation without this! I used to be scared to use any type of oil on my face since I have an oily T-zone, but this one does not make my face oily. You can use this a few ways. I personally mix a very small drop with my foundation and then apply it with a beauty sponge. You can also apply it all over your face or just the areas you want a glow from within look before applying foundation. I love it almost as much as the women who created it!
Makeup By Mario X Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette
Do I even need to explain why this palette is amazing?! So if you don’t know, this highly sought after palette was created by celebrity makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic, who is best known for glamming Kim Kardashian. No exaggeration, every time he mentions a product he uses, it gets sold out. So you can imagine the excitement when the news of this collab was released. Maybe I should talk about the palette now haha. With a mix of neutral and jewel-toned shades, this palette is beautiful for all skin tones and eye colors. And most importantly the formula is luxe with awesome color payoff.
RCMA Translucent Powder
This translucent powder has the exact same ingredients as the No Color Powder, but for some reason, it seems different. The description says: “This Translucent Powder is pigment added to our No-Color powder to create a slight flesh tone.” But like I said, the ingredient list is identical. I’ve emailed RCMA a few times, but I haven’t heard back yet. I find it to be very similar to the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. So I highly recommend it if you’re ballin’ on a budget and not a fan of the No Color Powder. 😉
essence make me brow
This little gem is only $2.99 and beautifully separates and holds your brows in place without the weird texture that many eyebrow gels have. I apply it before and after I fill in my brows. My favorite drugstore find!
Maybelline FIT ME! Concealer
I don’t know if it’s the shade or formula, but this is my holy grail everyday concealer. The shade 25 Medium, is the perfect shade for my skin tone. It has a slight peachy undertone which helps cancel out some of the dark veins around my eyes. I then use shade 20 to highlight, but never directly under my eyes. I place it just above the apple of my cheeks where the light naturally hits the face. And I also use Cafe as a liquid bronzer. It’s often called a dupe for the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. But to be honest I like the coverage of this one a lot more. However, I’m yet to try the new NARS shade in Macadamia which they just added to the range last year. It looks very similar to the Medium shade. I’ll keep you posted when I do!
Ofra ‘Bliss’ Eyeshadow/Highlighter
Of course, I have another duo product on my list. This is hands down my favorite highlighter. Beware, it packs a punch…no subtly here. So if you want to glow for the gods (without the flecks and glitter!), you need this!
If you try out any of these products, I’d love to hear what you think of them. Have a fab day! xo Sarah
