Liquid lipsticks continue to be in high demand, and for that reason, almost every cosmetics company has launched their own version of them. I personally love to test out all kinds of brands, especially the ones on the more affordable side. And, what I’ve learned is that since most liquid lipsticks are matte, they may not wear well. They can be uncomfortable on the lips and are actually quite drying. This is especially the case with the cheaper brands, but not so with BH Cosmetics Liquid Long-Wearing Matte Lipstick (bhcosmetics.com, $11 but almost always on sale). After so much trial-and-error, I’m extremely happy to have finally found a liquid lipstick with an awesome formula at such a great price.
…a luscious, long-wearing, full coverage formula that goes on wet and dries to a soft matte finish that won’t smudge, budge, or transfer.
Pretty extravagant promises by BH Cosmetics, but believe me, the product lives up to the description! It is a true matte finish, and I loved how it felt on my lips. It didn’t feel dry, tight, or thick. I almost always mix liquid and solid lipsticks, but some liquids don’t mix well with solids at all. However, with BH Cosmetics, I applied Clara with a matte nude shade to create an ombre lip and they blended together very nicely. And, once it completely dries, it doesn’t bleed onto your skin. I also tested it out on my hand to see if it’s truly smudge proof, and it didn’t budge. The only issue you may find is that you will need to reapply it after eating because it will fade a bit in the center of your lips. Otherwise, my only real complaint is that they only come in 10 shades (I obviously have issues):
My only complaint is that they only come in 10 shades (I obviously have issues):
- Princess – Bright Pink
- Cha Cha – Fuschia
- Serena – Peach
- Clara – Milk Chocolate
- Muse – Taupe
- Endora – Rosy Pink
- Bewitched – Violet Purple
- Icon – Deep Burgundy
- Glory – Bright Red
- Lust – Brick Red
I love that they are made in the U.S., and clinically tested for safety and quality, without testing on animals. For a list of their ingredients, click here.
I own Clara, Endora, and Icon, which are really great Fall and Winter Shades. I hope to purchase more once they are back in stock in March. Currently, the only available shades are Princess and Cha Cha.
I hope you try them out and love them as much as I do! And please let me know what you think in the comment section below. xo Sarah
